AEC Commons is an open community for the people who scan, model and build: BIM and VDC teams, scanning and survey firms, architects, engineers, contractors and owners.

How it works

• Topics (the list on the left with the three lines) hold posts: questions, discussions and project write-ups. Good answers stay findable, for you and for the next person who searches.
• Live rooms (the ones with a #) are for quick back-and-forth in real time.
• Work lists jobs, freelance, subcontracts and free capacity. Every post shows pay.
• People is the directory. Fill in your role, firm and the tools and scanners you use, so the right people can find you.
• Press Ctrl K (or Cmd K) anywhere to jump to a topic, post or person.

Asking a good question

Say which tool and version, what you tried, and what you expected. Add a screenshot. When someone solves it, mark their reply as the answer, so the next person finds it straight away.

House rules, short version

Real names. No marketing (vendor launches go in Launches only). Pay shown on every job. Be specific and kind. Only share what your client allows. The full rules are on the [About page](/about).
